Southern Stephanian Society, Bangalore
The 1980’s saw a large number of professional colleges starting in Bangalore which, alongwith the nascent growth of the IT industry, brought about the change from a sleepy ‘pensioners paradise’ moniker. Bangalore had become the ‘silicon valley’ of the country. This development saw a number of youngsters coming to the city for post-grad studies or to work in the new sunrise sector and the local population of Stephanians was rising. The first to notice this trend, and respond to it, was Ganesh Eashwar who was then heading the local branch of one of the advertising companies. He tracked down various Stephanians and prepared a database, before inviting all to a fun-filled dinner at his house. This set the ball rolling and a dinner/lunch linked to Founders has since been held annually with an informal selection of an Executive Committee and a President of the Stephanian Society of South India. Apart from that annual fixture there have been other get-togethers at least once-a-year and outdoor activities involving golf games, curated walks or visits to wineries, etc
Stephanians in Rajasthan (SIR)
Stephanians in Rajasthan (SIR) was launched by Mr Yogi Durlabhji many years ago. Since then, the Rajasthan Chapter has, very actively, been organizing reunions. These reunions witness very good participation not only from Jaipur but also from nearby cities. Moreover, there are many who come from Delhi to attend the SIR get-togethers.
They recently conducted the reunion for 2022 where other activities such as leopard safari as well as golf were organized. This proved to be a huge success as people thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
SIR reunions bring people together for an evening of nostalgia, for remembering their alma mater and reliving memories of college days. College holds a very special place for all Stephanians in Rajasthan and it is sure that this super active chapter will attain greater heights.
The Stephanians in the Northeast (SINe)
The Stephanians in the Northeast (SINe) was formally started in 2017.
Harmeet Singh(Hardi), Ranjeet Chowdhury, Ranjan Chowdhury, Diganta Barah, Pallav Gopal Jha and Miguel Das are in the current Core Executive Committee.
SINe has more than 100 members from across the eight northeast Indian States. Here are a list of reunions organized by SINe over the past couple of years:
In July 2017, SINe organized a Stephanian dinner at senior Stephanian Harmeet Singh's residence;
On 6th of August 2018, SINe members got together for an Italian dinner hosted by a Sri Lankan Chef, at Guwahati Address Hotel;
On 27th May 2018, SINe Members got together for dinner at India Club;
On 4th July 2022, SINe Members met for dinner at India Club.
Stephanians in Chennai
Our Chennai chapter, in its current form, is the newest member in the Stephanian family, although Stephanians in Chennai have been individually connected with its alma mater over the years. The Chennai alumni reunion dinner was held on 27th November, 2022 at the Madras Club. Prof John Varghese, and the faculty coordinator, Ms Ann Susan Aleyas was in attendance at the dinner.

Stephanians in Singapore
Of over twenty years in existence, the Stephanian chapter in Singapore comprises over 150 Stephanians. This bunch of Stephanians is especially known for their enthusiasm, jolliness and strong commitment to College. The institution of the Singapore Stephanian Scholarship, and the encouragement and enthusiastic hosting of current students in College who visited Singapore for the Innovation Summit in 2019 are but a few indications of the said spirit of this chapter.
Stephanians in the UK
The year 2022 was a wonderful one for Stephanians in the UK with social reunions taking place in June and a special meetup with Kapil Sibal, the former Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology in London. It was a great opportunity for former students to connect with each other and hear from Mr. Sibal about his experiences and insights on various topics. In addition to this, a summer BBQ for the incoming students in Cambridge was also conducted in May 2022. This chapter’s events have been well-attended and have provided a platform for our members to network and reminisce about their time at Stephen's College.
The UK chapter is looking forward to the conduct of organizing social events and reunions for its members in the coming months in 2023. Keep an eye on the website for updates and don't forget to mark your calendars for the upcoming events.
Japan Chapter of Alumni Association
Congratulations on the launching of this wonderful web page that connects global alumni of Stephanians spread to almost every part of the world. The Japan Chapter of St. Stephen’s Alumni Association was started in 2018 with the initiative of Prof. Mukesh Williams. Today there are over 80 members, many of them are former exchange students from Stephen’s to universities in Japan and vice versa. There are professors, artists, Japanese teachers, IT professionals and so on. Though the Japan Chapter is quite young, it has organized many events for Stephanians in Japan. Having bi-monthly gatherings (online/off-line) as the main activity, our chapter has also organized events to welcome St Stephen’s Principal, faculty and exchange students so far. Many alumni have commented that the gatherings have been quite enjoyable. For all of us, COVID has expanded our connection to include the digital platform. With the launch of this website, I am confident that Stephanians coming to Japan will find it easy to be in touch with us and this will be a great opportunity for us to show the very same warmth the college has shown to us.
